Thanks to that vast army of admirers all over the world, after many years of thinking and planning, DEATH DTA was created. The band was formed of the closest friends and associates of Chuck Schuldiner. The team of supreme musicians determined to offer live performances of immortal hits of the legendary band to their fans and to honor the deceased friend and colleague at the same time."

It was 1993 when DEATH cemented their reputation as one of the most creative and innovative progressive death metal bands of our time by releasing their 5th studio album Individual Thought Patterns. The album was their most technical one so far and displayed the whole talent of mastermind Chuck Schuldiner.

In 2016, this legendary album will be brought back to life. With their upcoming 2016 Tour European Thought Patterns , DEATH DTA are going to pay tribute to that masterpiece along with all of your favorites off all of the Death albums and add some new exicting places to their map of conquest.

The line up will be as huge as in 2015: Steve Di Giorgio ( Death,Testament, Sadus), Gene Hoglan ( Death,Testament, Dark Angel), Bobby Koelble (Death) and Max Phelps (Exist) have joined forces to resurrect those iconic songs, along with many more mile stones from DEATH’s history.

New KOLAC album “Zauvek Crni” will be out on December 12th!

Serbian traditional grim black metal division Kolac, who have recently signed for Serbian metal label “Grom Records”, have published the exact date of publication. The CD edition of their second studio album “Zauvek Crni” will be released on 12^th December this year. A special promotion for this album will be held in Dom Omladine,together with the performance of two Serbian bands Wolf’s Hunger and Redenik.

Years of hard working and being on the scene have shaped up the band KHORS as one of the most active and the best quality Eastern European underground Black Pagan Metal bands, which is also proven by their newest, sixth in a row, album published for the legendary “Candlelight Records”. After few not so successful attempts, the band will finally perform in front of our audience.

The concert will be held in Novi Sad in “The Quarter” on 6th November, organized by “Awaken Productions".

Their fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a real Doom Death Metal sound the same night. The special guests that will fulfill the atmosphere at “The Quarter” are the veterans from Ukraine – APOSTATE, who date since 1993. They will also promote their newest studio album published this year.

The support from Serbia will be the death metal machinery ASHEN EPITAPH from Senta. ASHEN EPITAPH is currently in the studio, recording their new album, but they will make a break especially for this unique opportunity and perform with these Ukrainian bands on November 6th in Novi Sad.

Superhammer released their new video!

Sludge/Stoner metalheads from Indjija (Serbia), Superhammer, released a new video for the song "May The Gods Pity The Men". The song is on the EP that was released for Miner Records. This is also the first appearance of MIloš Krsmanović (Thundersteel/Armageddon) at the microphone.

Ensiferum in Belgrade, tickets on sale!

After a successful concert of the bands Arkona and Korpiklaani, all fans of Epic and Folk Metal sound are awaiting for another spectacle. As we learn from the organization of MH Concerts & Serbian Hellbangers, the legendary Ensiferumwill storm through Belgrade in April 2016. After several unsuccessful negotiations, the band is finally coming to Serbia on April 14th, within their upcoming tour named The Return Of The One Man Army Tour 2016.

Ensiferum is an Epic Folk metal band from Finland which was formed in 1995, and in the beginning of the new millennium it gains a big and firm army of fans from all over the world. Inspired by the stories of legends, fantasies, battles and other epic elements, and above all an outstanding musical style, Ensiferum became inescapable among the bands of its genre. These guys have six studio albums, and they come to Serbia within the promotion of their newest album "One Man Army" which came out in February this year for Metal Blade Records.

Legendary Canadians ANNIHILATOR are finally coming to Serbia! One of the Icons of metal sound who’s name speaks for itself. Annihilator was formed back in 1984 and has published as much as 14 albums during their rich career as well as plenty singles, compilations and live albums. It is one of the most active veteran thrash metal band and they still sound fresh, innovative and above all mighty. They are visiting Belgrade within promotion of their new album “Feast”. For many it is already clear that Dom Omladine will be too small to host all of true fans of this legendary band!

As an overture for the concert of thrash metal legends –Annihilator, Serbian Hellbangers has announced a phenomenal warm up event. The official warm up concert will be held on October 15th in Dom Omladine in Belgrade. The bands that will cook up the atmosphere a day before the Annihilator concert are Alitor, Few Reasons Why and Ultramotion.

New forces of rock 'n' roll 2015 - part two

The second part of mini festival “New forces of rock n' roll 2015”  (Nove snage rokenrola) will be held on Saturday, 24th October, starting at 21:30 in “Quarter” (Novi Sad). Performers are: „Northern Revival“, „Neprijatelj prelazi zeku“, „Po kratkom postupku“ and „Putrid Blood“.

Another concert will be held in the “Quarter” on 24th November and it will present four bands from Novi Sad. Both events will be followed by the jury composed of Obrad Škrbić (NS Koncert godine and Radio NS), Konstantin Polzović (NS Koncert godine and Exit), Predrag Novković (RTV - Oradio), Milan Rakić (Exit and Radio NS) i Srđan Grbić (klub „Quarter“) who will choose one band that will have the honor to open the 2015’s Concert of the Year (ili “NS Concert of the Year 2015”).

Planet of Zeus has published its fall tour promo video!

This fall Planet of Zeus will fly on the wings of Europe again. Within their tour, these guys will visit almost 30 European countries, and recently they’ve published their fall tour promo video on their official Youtube channel.

Let us remind you that this Greek stoner metal guerilla, Planet of Zeus is coming back to Serbia for the third time. After their phenomenal appearance on Exit festival in 2014, and an outstanding concert on 9th October 2014 in SKCNS Fabrika in Novi Sad, these stoner rock metalheads will rock the grounds not only in Novi Sad but in Serbian capital as well. Within their newest tour Novi Sad is booked for 30th October 2015, and the next day they will perform in Belgrade. Those who've already heard Planet of Zeus live, certainly won't miss these upcoming events!

Extreme metal festival in Velika Plana on 24th October!

Velika Plana will be richer for one more metal festival that will be held on 24th October in DRUM Bar. This time we’re talking about an extreme metal fest that will gather as much as six bands. This mini festival named “Necro Neurectomy Fest” is arranged with a cause of promoting extreme metal music, so it will present the bands of different subgenre characteristics.

The first Necro Neurectomy Fest is organized in cooperation with DRUM Bar, by the organization/group of extreme metal followers which recently started acting by the name “Dirty Malice Productions” (Belgrade) which is also engaged in musical publishing.

Besides bringing together six bands from different parts of the country, the organizers made sure that “Necro Neurectomy Fest” gets the official markings of a serious event such as the printed posters and a special stage banner, as well as nicely designed collectable tickets as an opening for the ongoing tradition. The event will be supported by a rich marketing offer of the bands performing and the offer within the distributor “Some Kind Of Distro”, as well as the other promo material of Serbian metal labels.

The tickets will be sold at the entrance, at the symbolic price of 150RSD, and everyone who purchases it obtains a chance to win some of physical editions of the bands performing that night.

Legendary Serbian metal band Heller got a NEW singer!

Veterans of Serbian thrash metal, the legendary Heller, have presented on their official facebook page a new singer. To the surprise of all oldschool extreme metal followers, the new singer is a very well known member of a famous Serbian death thrash band Bloodath – Dacha.

For the reminder, Heller was formed back in 1985, and was active until 1993. They’re considered to be one of the first Yugoslav thrash/speed metal bands. Their debut album was published in 1989, and the band was re-gathered in 2013.

Something new among Serbian metal fans: The first Serbian video blog has started working!

In the past few years we’re witnessing a huge overflow of video blogs (vlogs) all over the world, andthey’re slowly but surely becoming an inevitable part among the heavy metal crowd. Believe it or not, a show of such material has appeared in our country, and the first one was broadcasted by video blog “Headbang”. According to its authors “Headbang” represents the raw reflection of everything that our media lacks. 

“The vlog is dedicated to our and foreign metal music scene, but firstly to the underground sound from our region. The vlog will also keep track of current mainstream metal scene.”

The authors also claim that they will pay their attention to some famous bands that have left their mark on the world metal scene. All of which will be presented in a form of a “Special” that will follow a few regular episodes.

Only four days left to a spectacle in Dom Omladine! Machine Head at the Belgrade’s door!

American thrash/groove band Machine Head will have a concert at the Belgrade's Dom Omladine on 21st September.

The tour “An Evening With Machine Head” will be very specific because they'll perform alone, and as the organizers “Avalon Produkcija” announce, the fans will be enjoying a two and a half hours of intense rocking.

Machine Head was formed in 1991, in Oakland California, by the guitarist and singer, Robb Flynn and the bass player Adam Duce. Even though they were a part of the Bay Area scene, they were more popular in Europe, while in America they were shadowed by More popular grunge sound. In the beginning they couldn't escape the influence of legendary groove/thrash bands, however, in time they've managed to produce a recognizable sound and place themselves among the most accentuated bands of the “New wave of American heavy metal”.

Their career is ideally circled with an impressive edition - “Bloodstone and Diamonds” from 2014, which was released by “Nuclesr Blast”. It was sold in more than 3 million copies and declared as the best mainstream metal album last year.

The album “Cold Blood War” was highly rated and positively criticized all over the underground world, and the past year for Infest was in sign of a large number of concerts and tours around Europe.

Elsewhere Shine released a new single, album in preparation!

Elsewhere Shine introduced a new single that symbolically represents the beginning of a new chapter in this bands opus. This Doom/Atmospheric band from Prokuplje was founded in October 2012, and not long after, as a serious musical project it gains a small but meaningful number of faithful fans sympathizers of Doom/Atmospheric orientation and progressive elements.

After the recent end of cooperation with the previous singer Miodrag Fodora, the band has presented a new singer Jadranka Stanic from Indjija. Jadrnka is known for her work with the bands Superhammer and Creation of Nothing and studio work on several more projects, and as Elsewhere Shine is saying, she will bring a new emotion to the songs contrasting the strong vocal of Bojana Panovska.

The newest single "Mater Morbi" was recorded before the change of personnel, therefore the vocals were interpreted by Bojana Panovska and now former singer Miodrag Fodora. Guitars and bass were played by Igor “Jimmy” Stanic (Superhammer, Creation of Nothing), everything else, including the piano and drums programming was done by Marko Sinadinovic, the founding leader of the band. The production, mix and mastering was signed by Boris Surlan, known for cooperation with Midnight Rain and Claymorean.

Armageddon – Eternal Mystery Rediscovered

Lately we’ve been witnessing a big comeback of Serbian metal bands who ruled the scene back in the ‘90s when, in the opinion of many critics, metal music reached the very peak of its success and quality. Speaking of famous Serbian heavy metal bands and not mentioning the band Armageddon would be a big fiasco. This time we’ve had the chance to listen to something old yet covered in new feathers by a legendary Armageddon. Why it is old but new at the same time will be discovered later in the article, while we assure you that this band won’t disappoint you.

Armageddon is a bend from Novi Sad which is one of the first Progressive/Symphonic Metal bands in our region. Under the patronage of “Tmina Records” the band published a re-release of its legendary debut album “The Eternal Mystery”. Now more than two decades old, recorded in the period between 1990 and 1993, “the Eternal Mystery” got its new robe and brought us something outstanding and beyond any doubt a more perfect piece. The name of the whole remixed and extended edition is “Eternal Mystery – Rediscovered”, and believe it or not, unlike the first one recorded on 8channels, this edition was recorded on as much as 128 channels. The first impression is breathtaking in accordance to the fact that the crew that gathered around this project is magnificent, and it counts the string quartet, opera singers and the professional choir of Serbian National Theatre from Novi Sad.

Armageddon takes us to its refugee of fantasy mixed with progressive elements with the overture named “Appearing”, which represents an epic theatrical entrance to story of the “Eternal Mystery”. At the very beginning we can recognize a clear fusion of progressive electronic effects and meticulous choir elements, all that colored in a typical story full of fantasy. “No Advice”, the next piece is an extended version of a song recorded in the early ‘90s. Classical heavy metal riffs combined with a brilliant guitar solo parts with a narration on top of that which passes through the whole album giving it an avant-garde taste. A song “The Curse of Black Swan (Intro)”, together with a song “Black Swan Rider” takes us to a dimension of true power metal, and the true lovers of this genre will recognize this song performed by the popular Serbian power metal band Tornado. Fifth in a row is a song “Magic star” which has, besides a few effects and the already mentioned narration, stayed almost completely identical as when first recorded in 1990. A heavy power piece like this has the ability to evoke the same emotions for twenty five years, proving that Armageddon’s piece withstands time. Travelling through the song “Sarabanda in D Minor” we’re arriving to a supreme musical piece “Heavy Metal Symphony Eternal Mystery”. Immortal metal composition full of melodic and atmospheric elements, tucked in the aura of classical music, having in mind that this outstanding piece lasts nearly 28 minutes it is a rarity in metal world, especially in Balkans. Even after this Armageddon doesn’t leave us hungry for powerful tunes, actually, this album contains radio bonus tapes such as shortened version of songs “No Advice” and “Heavy Metal Symphony”, a song “Funeral March – Sarabanda 2015” and a live song “Mordor Overture”.

In our modest opinion, this re-edition of a legendary album certainly presents a one of a kind rebirth in the best possible light. Surely, the sound production on this piece was challenging, which can be noticed in some parts where the digital form hardly fits the oldschool heavy metal aroma, on the other hand, the fact that a professional team of many musicians took part in this project says that this piece is indeed valuable. Besides the spectacular musical value, this album is completed with an excellent design that follows the idea of this band and its symphonic progressive focus, with the label “Tmina Records” making its best efforts to set the quality level very high. 

This re release is a thing that every true metal fan should listen to and have in their collection, because judging by what Armageddon has presented us now we can expect a lot from it in the future which is proven by their performance on EXIT festival this year. This pace, wideness and the idea is exactly what can launch Armageddon up to the top leaving us anticipating for their forthcoming work. Up until then we recommend “Eternal Mystery – Rediscovered” to all lovers of Progressive Symphonic metal and faithful followers of Power Heavy sound. It is very well known that in the past two decades the Scandinavian metal scene has achieved what only few regions in the world managed in metal music. Frozen in the shackles of the specific music and above all the dark Nordic metal, Scandinavia is already a built creation of a special metal world. It is obvious that the Norse mythological segment often prevails in Scandinavian metal elements and that he is just one major brand of Nordic image. On the other hand, countless bands at full speed every day present their fans sometimes very similar and therefore ragged things that begin to resemble each other and lose their quality and originality in this “flood”. It is exactly the same situation in the black metal world for years. However, any remotely experienced listener is ready to recognize what comes from the depths of the soul and a way of life of Northerners and the one that does not constitute a mere copy and already seen things. Not every band or project can offer that to you completely, but when you find it you will firmly hold to it.

This time the story takes us to Denmark, from where the band Fjorsvartnir comes. The band was formed in 2007 as a melodic black metal one-man project consisting of a Fjörgynn , who is also known as the drummer of the band Blodarv in which he formerly participated. After the first demo release "A Praise To My Ancestors preponderance" of 2010, the band released her first album “Legions Of The North” in 2012 for the Serbian Grom Records, and this summer Fjorsvartnir brings us the new album “Mzoraxc ' Forbandelse”, which we’ve had the opportunity to listen to.

Melodic intro at the beginning of the first song “Ravneskrig Og Ulvehyl” has entirely introduced the listener into what is characteristic for Fjorsvartnir. Convincing epic elements permeate the whole album completely, while the mentioned track is enriched with atmospheric pagan details. Sudden and lightning-fast changes of rhythm and intonation add the special charm to the melody that Fjörgynn raised to a higher level this time. The next track “Nordens Genopstandelse” with the same story and rhythm evokes the Nordic power that dominates on this album. By far it is already clear that Fjorsvartnir pushes the boundaries of musical abilities and emotional energy which is much more assertive on this album. The same thing finds us on tracks “En rejse igennem fortidens Riger”, “Riget”, “Mzoraxc - Mødet med underverdenen”, each of which build a solid and totally original base. Epic moments prevail also in the sixth track called “Krigssat” in which a beautiful female pagan vocal captivates us bringing the raw verses in an enchanting and intoxicating way. The manifestation of power continues in rough and fast song “Der sidste slag”, while the last track “Valkyrie” brought with perfect emotional female voice of Nanna Barslev (from the band Huldre), closes this album.

Unlike their work in the beginning, we’ve noticed that the “Mozarxc’ Forbandelse” has shown not only the improvement in Fjorsvartnir’s work, but the skill, strength and talent of one man. Therefore it should be mentioned that the production is at a very high level, nor the design is not lagging a bit. The credit for that goes to Dragan Paunovic but to Fjörgynn as well. As for the complaints, they are so tiny and invisible to almost non-existent. It’s certain that those not speaking Danish can’t fully understand every lyrical message of this album, but Fjorgynn made ​​sure that the music is so severe emotional, strong and devastating that It itself is a language that we all understand without any mistake. At the beginning we’ve mentioned the rare ones who will be able to enchant their audience with their skills and music from the very depths of Norse soul, and Fjorsvartnir is certainly one of them.
